Curates Update

Monday 29th April 2024

As always, it was wonderful to worship with you yesterday as we unpacked 'Jesus - the Vine'. If you missed it, you can catch up here. Join us again this Sunday as we consider 'Jesus - Our Friend' at both the 9am and our All Age service at 10:30am.

Because of the impending work in the car park, our Wednesday communion service is going to start at the slightly later time of 10:10am from this week onwards to allow for free parking on the street. If you have never come along to our Wednesday service, it is a mid-week communion with lively bible discussion, like a sacramental home group! It is usually one of the highlights of my week and you are most welcome to attend.

A reminder of our Annual Meeting – Sunday evening 19th May 6.30pm, followed by refreshments. Even though we don’t have a vicar, this is still an important meeting where we can share progress on the vacancy as well as electing Churchwardens and PCC members. Do pop it in your diary!  The papers will be uploaded over the coming fortnight on our website here:

Elections to our Church Council – Nominations now open and are invited for the following:

2 Churchwardens to serve for 1 year (both current role holders have indicated a willingness to stand again)
3 PCC members to serve for 3 years and 1 for 2 years

The PCC plays an important part in the vacancy - more information and how to offer yourself here.  Please think about whether you would like to stand or whether you might nominate someone. Queries to current Churchwardens Mary Ann Auckland or Ann Toley or PCC Secretary Jane Maffett.

As we considered remaining in Jesus yesterday, we challenged ourselves to find ways of connecting with him during the day. This is a great opportunity to revisit our Spiritual Pathways from our earlier series. There's a great page of ideas under each pathway here (the spiritual pathways have slightly different titles but the idea is the same). Why not see if there are one or two ways you can try this week?

God bless and have a great week!

Ruth
