And let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us encourage one another with words of hope. Let us do this even more as you see Christ’s return approaching.   Hebrews 10:25

This is our final Thought for the Day.  We started on March 23rd and if my Maths is correct there have been 112 Thoughts sent out since then, from 36 different contributors.

It has been really wonderful to hear from such a variety of people, all with their own thoughts to share and to encourage us.  And while we, for a long time, weren’t able to see each other in person it reminded us that whether we can meet physically or not we are still the Body of Christ.

I know that I’m not the only one who has been challenged and inspired by the Thoughts – it has been lovely to hear about positive comments sent to various authors and to know that their words have been appreciated.  For myself, sitting down around 9am each day and reading the scripture verse and the prayer, as well as the reflection itself, has often been just what I needed and God has spoken to me through them.  I’ve also very much enjoyed the different song choices.  My Lighthouse by Rend Collective ended up being chosen three times!
If you’ve got used to that daily pause for thought, may I encourage you to continue it in some form?  Bible reading notes or books with a daily passage and comment are easily available as well as apps for your phone or computer.  One such app that I can recommend is Lectio 365.  And of course you can still join with others in prayer via Facebook live or Zoom, and now in person on a Sunday morning too (please book on our website!).

Finally, a huge thank you from me to Morgen Edwards who has sent the Thoughts out daily and to everyone who has contributed.  They are saved on our website under Resources if you would like to catch up on any.  And it’s not over just yet - look out for our Thoughts for the Week, every Wednesday in August!

Prayer Lord help us to stay close to you during this fallow time.  Deepen our prayer lives and help us to love your word and seek to understand it and apply it to our own situations, with the help of your Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Prayer Request  For those who struggle to find time to pray and read the Bible, that you would meet with them in a fresh way this summer.
