Welcome to the youth page
We value our young people as an integral part of the St Stephen’s community and aim to help them develop their relationship with Jesus, with each other and with the wider church.
We hope to appoint a Youth Pastor in 2022 but in the meantime activities continue, led by our fantastic volunteer team and coordinated by Caroline Newbold, our Associate Vicar.
During the Summer of 2021 we held a small group session using Zoom every Wednesday evening for the older youth (Y11-13). Younger youth (Y7-10) were invited to some special events on a Sunday afternoon including a music jam, a treasure hunt and the St Stephen’s Olympics! Y6s began attending from June onwards, as they prepared to move up to secondary school.
Our Autumn 2021 programme features a youth session during the 10:30 service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, special events every month like participating in the You Matter evening at St Alban's Acton Green, and a chance to get more involved in the life of the church through serving on the AV team or helping with welcome or children's activities. We have a mentoring programme to help young people with faith and everyday life. Young people are offered a trained and DBS checked mentor from within the church community who will meet with them on a regular basis.
