Vicar's Update

Sunday 19th November 2023

This morning it was announced that Caroline and I will be leaving St Stephen’s in the spring of 2024 as I have been appointed by the Bishop of Reading to be Rector in the Benefices of Bucklebury and Bradfield with Stanford Dingley in the Oxford Diocese.  This is a group of four village churches in between Reading and Newbury, two with traditional and two with contemporary worship.

By the time I leave I will have served as Vicar here for 15 years.  During that time, much has happened, many of you have joined the Church and we have seen God at work in all sorts of ways.  However, 15 years is a long time and for a while now we have sensed God’s call to move on and allow a new Vicar to lead St Stephen’s with fresh vision.

St Stephen’s has been such an important part of our lives, and it will be very hard to leave but we know that God is calling us to new things and has even greater things in store for you all here in Ealing.  Until we leave, we will continue to work with you for the Kingdom in this place.

With my love as always

Steve
